This unique property, situated in a trendy Kitsilano neighborhood, abuts both a community garden and the Arbutus greenway. The goal was to retain the two character cottages, take advantage of the site's unusual context, and to add additional density. The solution was to keep the two houses, and convert them into townhomes by constructing a contemporary addition between them. After construction was completed, we can confidently claim this as a success story for densification without sacrificing livability or neighbourhood character. An extensive roof deck, west-facing upper balconies, and extraordinary daylight angles make these three homes a great example for how each individual site benefits from custom design solutions.
