Blending the old with the new. This character retention project saw an early 20th century house transform into a duplex with the help of house relocation and a contemporary addition. The new infill house in the rear carries on the modern transition with a clean form, high-quality cladding, and flat roofs. High ceilings, large glass openings, and open floor plans make the new units feel spacious and bright. Creating functional outdoor spaces was a design priority, with the new units having private walkout patios and roof decks.
